OLIVIA DEAN PASSWORD CHANGE

Citing Ms. Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Carole King amongst her own personal heroes, East London-based rising star Olivia Dean has shown similar potential to her iconic influences on her emotive new single 'Password Change'. Set over jazzy chord progressions played on a pristine piano, Dean's velvety R&B vocal style melts over dreamy guitar lines and percussive beats. Tapping into the oh-so-relatable experience of trying to navigate a new or even old relationship, Dean sums up the sentiment perfectly with the incredible hook "I'm just trying to learn you, cos your love don't come with instructions". With the accompanying video for 'Password Change' harking back to the madness of last summer's World Cup, when the exchange that motivated the track took place, Dean captures the epitome of British politeness - hiding an argument and putting on a front in a social situation, which ultimately leads to isolation and awkwardness.
